On Monday, I received the lease agreement and we spent the day going back and forth on questions/edits. The following morning (Tuesday), Claudia called me urging me to sign the lease because she was getting more showing requests (no mention of other applicants). I thanked her for answering my questions, confirmed I was ready to sign, and did so early that same afternoon. Upon signing, I gave my notice to my current leasing office (breaking my lease). Then...radio silence from Claudia. The next afternoon (Wednesday) I reached out to confirm next steps. An hour or so passed before I received a text back: "I am really sorry, but the landlord decided to go with another applicant after all."I understand that Claudia was representing the landlord's interests in this case and not my own, but I would hope and expect that any real estate agent would have the professional courtesy and integrity to do right by all parties involved. My detrimental reliance on Claudia's misrepresentation has put me out thousands of dollars in early termination fees and left me without a place to live. I would not trust this person to advocate on my behalf and hope this review saves someone from enduring a similar experience with her in the future.
